With great power comes great responsibility. This is a saying that could apply to many areas in life but especially with wealth. It’s the belief of many that wealthy individuals have a responsibility to give back to the community. This is a trait that the DeVos family has not issue with. For years the DeVos family has been giving back and donating to a plothera of charities. The family has been very private and humble about their giving over the years. It was just recently revealed that they have given more than 1.2 billion dollars over the years. The family has decided to be more open about their giving as of late in hopes to inspire others to give as well.
The DeVos family recently gave Forbes the opportunity to look a little deeper at the finances. The Magazine Recent reports revealed that the DeVoses gave as much as $94 million in the year 2014, ranking the family 20th on its annual Top 50 givers list. The DeVos family gives to a variety of groups including conservative political candidates, education and health and community services. The DeVoses donated $90.9 million in 2013 and $94 million total giving in 2014. The family has a total of five foundations, one of which is run by Dick DeVos.
Dick DeVos is no stranger to giving, just like most of his family. Currently and entrepreneur and a businessman, DeVos career dates back to his beginnings with AmWay, his father’s business. He would eventually take over as CEO of the company and run it for more than a decade.
Dick DeVos’s giving is widespread. He is President of the Dick and Betsy DeVos Foundation, which has given thousands of dollars to civic, artistic, and economic organizations since the early 90’s. He has helped groups such as ArtPrize Grand Rapids, Grove City College, Hope College and Mars Hill Bible Church. He has even established a scholarship called the The Dick & Betsy DeVos Scholarship established in 2008. This scholarship seeks out MA, MS, or MBA students at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and provides for their educational needs.
It’s clear that the DeVos family takes their responsibility of giving back seriously. There recent decision to become more transparent about their giving is an attempt to motivate others to give as well.
Most people who use Medicare are an the Original Medicare plan, but there are some who opt for a Medicare Advantage Plan. These are insurance supplemental groups who pay the government a certain amount for each individual paid. There are several different kinds, but the most common types are Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS). Less common but still good Medicare Advantage Plans are Special Needs Plans (SNP), Provider Sponsored Organizations (PSO), and Medicare Medical Savings Account (MSA).
Although users of the plans do so with different insurance companies, they are still full Medicare participants with all Part A and B services provided. The regulations of the various individual plans are themselves have within their plans things that are contractually obligated to abide by Medicare rules. However, the cost is higher for some things and lower for other things than it would be than under Original Medicare. Although there may be a higher payout of average with Medicare Advantage Plans, these plans do usually offer some things that Original Medicare does not.

I got to talk to Stephen Murray just a few days before he had to take his leave of absence, but it was a good time for me to learn about investing for my company. Our business is in need of help from a company like CCMP Capital that could help us get into a major fund.
The fund we got into came from the mind of Stephen Murray, and I know that it was designed just for people like me. I am one of thousands, and I know that we have tens of thousands in a fund that is worth billions. We are benefiting from a plan that is made to help all comers, and it showed me that I could make all my research money from investments. I am so pleased with the way that this fund works because I believe that the fund is a place where I can go for real customer service. I never got to call in to Stephen Murray CCMP Capital himself after we got started, but it was clear that all he had done was really helping our company. I have said that we had all the money coming in, and I also learned that his team was just as good as he was.
He trained all these people to give the results that were needed, and it made me feel good to know that I was going to have a chance to make a lot of money from a simple investment.
I am glad that I started with Stephen Murray because he showed me that there was a way to do what we needed to do.
